Українські світлини, які надихають

Де шукати впевненість у майбутньому, коли агресія, насилля та руйнування зненацька вриваються у твоє життя? Коли вам насильно нагадують, що мир і свободу не можна сприймати як належне?
Виставка демонструє Україну у світлинах – культурну спадщину, побут, традиції як окремої родини, так і села чи міста – життя українців, яке до цього часу все ще залишається маловідомим в Німеччині. Українці поділились не лише спогадами про минуле. Кожна з цих світлин є водночас думкою про світле майбутнє – сподівання на відбудову Батьківщини.
Це світлини із серця суспільства, автентичні кадри, значення яких радикально змінилося внаслідок жорстокого вторгнення і які таким чином розкривають абсолютно нову дійсність: від радісних спогадів до меморіалів того, що стало жертвою нападу. Але вони також розвивають потенціал бути особистими та соціальними джерелами сили та віри, тому що вони показують те, що вже було досягнуто і як це знову мало би бути, заради чого необхідно залишатися сильними і заради чого необхідно боротися. У той же час світлини є тривожним закликом для всіх членів ліберальних та конституційних демократій мужньо відстоювати те, що зараз поставлено на карту, не лише в Україні.
Виставка має за мету надати простір українцям для висловлення особистого послання віри і водночас зміцнити свідомість думкою про важливість громадянської мужності. Ми впевнені, що навіть найменші наші зусилля здатні спонукати більшу кількість людей знайти у собі сміливість протистояти руйнівним подіям та змінити ситуацію на краще.
На виставці ХОРОБРІСТЬ x СУЧАСНІ УКРАЇНСЬКІ МИТЦІ у місті Ахені будуть представлені фотосвітлини, а також творчі роботи сучасних українських митців, серед яких: Олеся Джураєва та Альоша.

Ukrainian Pictures
that Encourage

Where to find confidence when aggression and destruction overtake the life we are used to? When forcibly reminded that peace and freedom can never be taken for granted?
This exhibition shows pictures that encourage: Photographs of Ukraine – the country, its life, cities, culture and people – as they are hardly known in Germany and as Ukrainians want to show, remember and rebuild their homeland. Some of them have therefore sent in photos of their fondest memories for us to display in a setting less ephemeral than a social media post.
These are images from the heart of society, authentic snapshots the meaning of which has been radically shifted by a brutal blow and which thus unfold an entirely different effect: from happy mementos to memorials of what fell victim to the violent attack. Beyond that, however, they also gain potential as sources of personal and social strength and confidence, as they show what has already been achieved before and how it is to become again – reasons to stay strong and carry on. In this spirit, the photographs also serve as an urgent reminder for all members of liberal democracies to courageously stand up for what is currently at stake, not only in Ukraine.
Intending to provide a space for Ukrainians and their personal messages of confidence, we concurrently hope to raise awareness of the importance of assuming responsibility for our shared societal values and beliefs. If together we succeed in bringing about even the slightest change that in turn leads to even more people finding the courage to stand up against destructive developments, then all is far from lost.
At Atelierhaus Aachen, the photographs will be complemented by works of art in the exhibition COURAGE x CONTEMPORARY UKRAINIAN ARTISTS – Olesya Dzhurayeva and Aljoscha, among others.
