Up Close, Nothing Personal

MÉLANGE is happy inviting the curatorial collective Komplot from Brussels presenting DSCTHK
a project by Jérôme André and Thibaut Blondiau

‘Up Close, Nothing Personal’ is the title of a book in which Lee Morrison states, in regard to his experience, the good attitudes for the nightclubs doormen to adopt. The nightclubs are places whose architectural inventory is nurturing our work for years. The exhibition at MÉLANGE is a tribute to those men who supervise the entrance ; We perceive them as living elements of the architecture of the access and the exit of the party. Questioning the dialectic of the book’s title, the doormen are both emotional and rational presences at a time and place of the passage between the real world as a whole, and the strange and fantastic world of entertainment.
